Shimako Satō (佐藤嗣麻子, Satō Shimako) (born in 1964) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter.[1][2][3][4] She is best known for directing Eko Eko Azarak: Wizard of Darkness (1995) and K-20: Legend of the Mask (2008). Her husband is famed filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki.
Career
[edit]Born in Iwate Prefecture, Satō attended the Asagaya College of Art and Design before studying filmmaking at the London International Film School.[5] Her 1995 film Wizard of Darkness won the Minami Toshiko Award at the 1995 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.[6]
